The Grateful Dead Studies Association is a professional, all-volunteer nonprofit scholarly organization.
Our membership includes professional academics, independent scholars, musicians, and anyone interested in the scholarly study and appreciation of the Grateful Dead, their impact, and their legacy.
The Association sponsors a wide range of scholarly activities including our flagship journal, Grateful Dead Studies, the Proceedings of the Grateful Dead Studies Association, and several other projects and initiatives.
The Association meets annually at the Southwest Popular/American Culture Association.
