The Fellows award honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of Grateful Dead studies and/or to the Grateful Dead Studies Association. The award celebrates achievement and service, and is especially mindful of the work of those whose efforts have been influential or instrumental yet has not received the attention it merits.
Inaugurated in 2025 at the Association’s fifth annual meeting, the Fellows award represents an essential aspect of the Association’s mission. The induction speech for each Fellow is published in the Proceedings of that year’s meeting.
